Hello everyone, my name is Lorraine Young and I am the third and final of Frank's guest bloggers. I represent the many thousands of women who are widowed by the Tech.Ed event for nearly one week each year, not to mention the many nights of preparation and networking before the event where my husband disappears into the IM, Email and Twitter void.

Well - they say if you can't beat them - join them and so I have!

For the last three years I have been pseudo-attending Tech.Ed and will be doing so again this year. In truth I have never made a single session, however I have always had a blast of a time joining in with the various Tech.Ed festivities. In previous years I have been at the pub the night before Tech.Ed kicks off and each night during the event. I can usually be found hanging around the building after sessions keen for a chat and a mingle. I have always made it along to the Tech.Ed party and am a big fan of the Scooby Doo ghost train! I have also managed to make my way back to the odd Microsoft dinner party or social gathering.

This year we are back in Brisbane which is definitely a favourite for a Melbournian as I can split my day time between catching up with the dev world, and the other Tech.Ed widows as well as hopefully enjoying some sunshine.

More from me soon. :)
