I have been watching this "5 things about me" travel over many of the blogs I read. Last week or so, Dr. Neil tagged me so I guess I am now part of this blog game. I typically try to stay away from this chain mail type thing, but have been asked to respond to it a few times, and it seems like fun so I will.
Note: I’m sure you’re all familiar with the scenario where a few years back chain emails became the basis of many a spammer’s heaven by giving them hundreds of emails in a single thread. This doesn't have the same problem but I’ll just say I’m not really sure about it…

So five things you probably don’t know about me:

  1. I have never seen a Star Wars movie. So I don't think I qualify as a geek.
I prefer true stories or ones based on fact, especially ones about air disasters.
  2. I was raised on a farm, milking cows. I wonder if I will return one day to my beloved Hunter Valley. It is so sad to see how dry it has become and the Hunter River as I knew it has turned to a trickle.
  3. I’m an accountant turned software guy. I used to love reviewing peoples financial affairs, now I review peoples applications. I love software *even more* and I am blessed people pay me to do this.
  4. I love watching and playing tennis, I play most weeks with the same guys I’ve known since I was young
  5. I want the software I use to get better and I keep my wish list for Microsoft and others, but I would give this list up if I could get just one thing done.
I am sooooo disappointed in the giants of the industry.... I mean I would have expected 5 years ago that the Microsoft's/Google's/Yahoo’s etc to have got together to make a protocol for authenticated email - can't they rid the world of spam (or at least make it harder still for the evil spammers)
