Jeff Alexander's Interview Answers
Here is what Jeff had to say on the questions...
Aside from the boiler plate text that is posted on the eForum web site about your presentation, what would you say are the cool points in your presentation?
[Jeff Alexander] Finding out new ways to really monitor and manage an AD infrastructure properly so the IT team can out themselves in a proactive position instead of being “issue” lead.
From your talk, what are the top 3 things you want the attendees to take home with them?
[Jeff Alexander] using MOM to managing AD is a no brainer. Use MOM to monitor MS applications as well as 3rd applications like Citrix and your hardware infrastructure. You can view all this information from the one place using MOM.
Why is your talk important, what is the industry need behind it?
[Jeff Alexander] I bet there are a large percentage of AD deployments out there that are not proactively monitored. I think a lot of time is spent on deployment and design but ongoing monitoring is often not considered as it should.
Who do you think will get the most from your talk?
[Jeff Alexander] IT administrators; TDM’s and Operations folks
What is your ‘pet’ security topic?
[Jeff Alexander] I have 2 Pets (2 Pug Dogs!) and I think organisations do not spend enough time on risk assessment.
What do you think IT Pro and Developers need to be looking to do better in the future?
[Jeff Alexander] They need to better articulate why we need to make investments in security to upper management
